hello.

tere hurst loved making art from a very young age but viewed it as a hobby instead of a career path. it was until she graduated college with a BS in zoology that she realized she enjoyed drawing animals more than studying them. at that point she decided to embrace her artistic side and began studying illustration at the school of visual arts in nyc in 1992 and started making ceramics in 2010.

-

she has lived and travelled to many cities throughout the world; including africa, europe, central and south america, and has lived in quite a few of the larger cities in the united states. from this experience she has encountered a variety of cultures and peoples helping form her long standing interest in language, symbols, typography, and topography which she incorporates in her current work.

word from tere:

"i thank you for allowing me to share my art with you.

if you purchase a piece my desire is that you treasure it for a lifetime

and then hand it down and have someone else treasure it for a lifetime

or gift it along and hopefully they will treasure it for their lifetime".

be well and take care
